Welcome to the Great Orme Bronze Age Mines

The History of Llandudno The history of Llandudno — from ancient to modern times. The flat area that is now home to the famous seaside resort of Llandudno has not always been as homely as people would like to think; indeed, Llandudno has a surprising history dating from very ancient times. Look around you — the shops, hotels, arcades, memorials and churches stand proud. But years ago, there was nothing here but uninhabitable common marshland, used by locals for grazing and fishing, but certainly not for living. The earliest evidence of human inhabitation in the area comes from the Great Orme itself. We therefore know that people have inhabited the Llandudno area for around five thousand years. At this time, if you had stood on the Orme and looked west towards Conwy, much of what is now the estuary would have been covered in thick forest, as the mountains of Snowdonia were also. The iron-age hill fort at Pen-y-dinas, also on the Orme, is a great example of ancient architecture, containing hut circles and dating from BC. Visitors to the mines can clearly see the blue copper ore in the cavern walls that was so sought after by Bronze Age miners — it was blended with tin imported from Devon and Cornwall to make bronze.

Although this was contested by the bishop, the borough retained its status both through the lifetime of Llywelyn and later through the efforts of Aberconwy Abbey , which ripped down banners related to the bishopric or to Edward I of England. A century later, after the monastery moved to Maenan Abbey , [8] the town had its own coat of arms and flag, the origin of the local motto “Cymru, Lloegr a Llanrwst” Wales, England and Llanrwst. This motto, a testament to this apparent independence, has now become synonymous with the song of that title by a local band, Y Cyrff.

It owes its well planned streets and wide promenade to Edward Mostyn and Owain Williams, who in the mid nineteenth century laid out a new town on former marshland below the Great Orme. Llandudno provides not one beach but two. On the side of the headland facing Conwy is West Shore, with a terraced sea wall and a sand and shingle beach, backed by sand dunes.

She performed a sex act on him in his car while he was driving her home from a session with child mental health services. Despite knowing she was under 16 and a rape victim, he later took her to his flat in Ruislip, west London, where they engaged in full intercourse. Nevertheless, you allowed your own desire to overcome your better judgement. Michael Creamer gets four years two months. Anita Creamer gets two years. Where is the perspective? Where is the perspective between these two crimes and the sentences received?

North Wales Police for years have hounded MR Creamer, once he got married and had a family they hounded his wife and children, why? In my humble opinion North Wales Police from the beginning took an instant dislike to Mr C, he and his family had moved to North Wales when he was a young boy, coming from the city Michael and his siblings were perhaps a little more boisterous than some of the locals, the police did not like the fact that the young Mr C, would stand up for himself if he believed he was right.

On the other hand a police officer convicted of rape gets a moderate sentence, promised open jail and time of to be with his family. It is no wonder the public are fed up with the unjust way sentences are handed down, faith in our police forces is at an all time low, corruption between the police, Freemasons and the justice system is out of control. Its us that suffer.
